### Humid air on cold surfaces makes more water than people expect

A door that has stopped sealing outdoors does something an indoor cabinet never has to deal with: it lets warm, humid Florida air onto everything cold inside, and the condensation that follows arrives in quantities that genuinely surprise owners. The test that matters is grip rather than appearance — a gasket can look immaculate and have lost its set entirely, and only closing the door on something thin and pulling finds it. Hinges matter as much as the gasket, because a door that has dropped even slightly holds at the top and stands open at the bottom, which on an undercounter unit is exactly where nobody looks.

### Can a seal be refitted rather than replaced?

If it has come out of its channel, yes, and that is worth checking first. If it has taken a set — gone hard and stopped compressing — refitting it changes nothing, and the paper test tells us which of the two we have.

### Why check the hinges too?

Because a cabinet that has settled in its opening will never hold a door true, and a new gasket fitted into that geometry fails the same way the old one did. Sometimes the answer is shimming the cabinet rather than buying a part.
