# DCS beverage center not cooling

### The island gets diagnosed before the cabinet does

An undercounter refrigerator in a closed stone island, a meter from a grill, in a Miami August, is rejecting heat into air that is already hot. Where the ventilation path was built tight, or has since been blocked by something stored against it, no part we fit will change the outcome — and saying so costs us a sale and saves a second identical visit in the next hot month. Where the ventilation is genuinely adequate, the ordinary list applies in order of likelihood and cost: seal, fans, condenser, then the sealed system, which is concluded by elimination rather than assumed.

What this involves

Ventilation first — in a sealed island no part will fix this

A condenser in an island loads with salt far faster than any indoor cabinet

Running constantly in August is not automatically a defect

Look at the installation before the appliance

Vent path, clearances, what has been stored around it, and how hot the space actually gets with the grill running. This is frequently the whole answer and it costs nothing to establish.

Airflow, seals and the condenser

Fans running, condenser clear, door seal holding. On the coast the condenser is the single highest-yield thing to clean on this machine.

Only then the sealed system

Measured rather than assumed. We would rather tell you the cabinet is not economic to repair than fit a compressor into an island that will cook the next one too.

### It ran fine last summer.

Then the machine has usually loaded its condenser rather than lost refrigerant. A coil packed with salt, dust and whatever the landscaping produces is the commonest reason a cabinet that managed one August cannot manage the next.

### Is an indoor unit really a problem outdoors?

Yes, and we find them. Run past the ambient range it was drawn for, with rain and salt reaching electrics never sealed against either, such a cabinet manages a summer or so and then gives out in a manner nobody sensibly pays to mend. We say that outright instead of charging for the same repair twice.
