# DCS wall oven not heating

### An ordinary list of causes behind an extraordinary access problem

Nothing about the failures here is unusual — element, sensor, thermal fuse, board, door — and everything about reaching them is. The oven is heavy, fixed to joinery at chest height, and the space behind it was sized once and never revisited. So the figure and the length of the visit are decided mostly by whether it has to leave the run, and the published sub-error frequently answers that before anybody arrives. Where a run has been tiled or scribed up to the trim, we would rather see a photograph first than discover it in your kitchen with the oven half out.

If the oven must come out, it comes out with two people and a plan. Where a run has been tiled or scribed up to the trim, we want to see that before the appointment rather than during it.

### Does it have to come out of the cabinet?

For the control, the door and the seal, usually not. For an element, a fan or anything at the back, usually yes — and that means two people and a plan rather than one person and optimism.

### It stopped right after a self-clean.

A common and cheap finding. The high-temperature cycle is the hottest hours of the oven's year, and a thermal fuse opened by it stops the oven entirely while everything else is sound. It is checked before anything larger is considered.
