Water inside a DCS beverage center. It is almost never a refrigerant leak — refrigerant is a gas and it does not puddle. Every cold cabinet makes water and has a planned route for it, and when that route blocks the water finds its own. Outdoors there is a second source an indoor unit never has: humid air arriving past a tired door seal, condensing on everything cold, in quantities that genuinely surprise people. The two causes look identical on the floor and feed each other.

Does a note of paper slide out of the closed door?
Tried at several points around the door. It is the only reliable test of a gasket, and a seal that looks perfect frequently fails it.

Pour a little water into it and watch. A channel that takes it slowly will block properly before the season is out.

If the water tracks the humidity rather than the door being opened, condensation is the source and the seal is the thing to look at.

What to do in the next ten minutes
Take everything out and find where the water actually is — in the base inside, under the cabinet, or running down the back wall. Look for the drain channel, usually at the back of the floor of the compartment, and see whether it is blocked with debris. Then close the door on a strip of paper at several points around it and pull: where it slides out freely, the seal has stopped gripping.
The two causes feed each other
A tired seal lets humid air in; that air condenses; the extra water overwhelms a drain that was sized for normal frost melt; the standing water then sits against the seal and the cabinet. Treating either half alone leaves the other running, which is why we deal with both at the same visit. It also explains why this problem seems to appear suddenly after years — it does not, it crosses a threshold.
Why it matters more outdoors
Inside a house, water in the base of a drinks cabinet is a nuisance. In an island it reaches fixings, hinges, and frequently the electrical connections of neighboring equipment, none of which is designed to be wet. The repair is inexpensive; what it prevents is not.

Could it be a refrigerant leak?
Refrigerant is a gas at the pressures involved and it does not collect as liquid in the cabinet. A machine low on refrigerant fails to cool rather than making puddles. Water in the base is a water problem, and that is good news.
Can I clear the drain myself?
Often, gently — a flush of warm water down the channel clears a good number of them. What we would avoid is pushing anything rigid down the drain tube, which can dislodge or damage the run behind the cabinet where nobody can reach it.
