DCS side burner will not light
DCS side burner not working while the grill beside it is perfect. That combination is good news for the diagnosis, because it takes the shared supply out of the picture in one sentence: a manifold feeding a working grill is a manifold that is working. What is left is the side burner's own valve, its own ignition and its own burner — and those sit lower, closer to the splash, and are used a fraction as often, which in this climate is a risk rather than a protection.

What this usually turns out to be
Cheapest and commonest first, which is also the order we check them in. They sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the unit settles which one is yours.

The burner or venturi is obstructed
A burner used a few times a season, sitting in an open recess, collects debris and nests. It is the commonest finding and often clears with the burner out.

What to do in the next ten minutes
Confirm the grill still lights normally — that establishes the supply. Then look at the side burner cold: is the cap seated flat, is the burner sitting properly over its orifice, is there debris or standing water in the recess. Clear anything obvious, reseat the cap, and try again once.
Shared manifold, separate machines
An outdoor kitchen is several appliances fed from one gas run, and that architecture makes triage unusually easy. One machine dead while the others are fine is that machine's own chain. Everything weak together is the supply. There is very little in between, and an owner can establish which they have in under a minute.
Why the least-used burner fails first
It is counterintuitive and it is consistent. A burner used every weekend is dried out by its own heat and cleared by its own flame; one used twice a summer sits cold and open in a humid, salty environment with rain falling into it. Use is protection out here, which is also why we suggest running everything in the island occasionally rather than only the grill.

Is it worth repairing something we barely use?
That is a fair question and the answer is usually yes, because the fix is nearly always cleaning and an ignition part rather than a burner. Where it is genuinely a corroded burner in a recess that will keep filling with water, we would want to talk about the drainage as well — otherwise the same repair comes round again.
Can the power burner be fixed the same way?
Same architecture, same list, more heat. A power burner works harder and its ignition and burner wear faster, but the diagnosis runs in the same order and the grill still proves the supply for it.
